Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a full time Behavioral Clinician/Technician-Residential (DSP) to work in our Teaboldt Group Home, located in New Castle, Henry County, IN. This position will work 3p to 11p and every other weekend and holidays.

This is a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others by monitoring the health and behavior of residents; assisting residents in carrying out activities of daily living; nurturing residents' social skills; responding to necessary crisis situations; assisting in maintaining the health and safety standards of the facility; and carrying out the day-to-day operations of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining 24/7 staff coverage, including working other shifts as needed.
  • Assist residents in the acquisition of Activities of Daily Living skills and social skills in individual and group settings
  • Assess and monitor residents' behaviors and intervene as appropriate
  • Communication (verbal and written) and consultation with residents, house staff and other Center staff.
  • Assist residents in menu planning/grocery shopping (writing out menus, loading groceries, comparison shopping).
  • Task assignments, assign and monitor residents' tasks on a rotating basis; Supervision, training and assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living.
  • Crisis intervention
  • Medication packaging and monitoring.
  • Assist residents in obtaining/applying for generic benefits.
  • Maintain environment under house rules specified (see general house rules).
  • Record keeping (ITP's, daily logs, medication logs, medication counting, daily census, inventory and skills assessment).

We are seeking candidates with the following qualities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two and one-half years of experience in the human services field required
  • Bachelor degree in Social Work or in a related Human Services field preferred
  • A commitment to providing individual attention to help clients achieve mental, emotional, and physical well-being
