Meridian Health Services in Muncie, Indiana is currently seeking a Vice President, Human Resources to provide overall strategic HR leadership and to oversee the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services, which include but are not limited to selection, retention, legal compliance, benefit plans, employee relations, communication, and employee events.
Responsible for advising management to ensure Meridian's compliance with all federal, state and local laws related to employee benefits, compensation, employment and training. Remain current with changes in human resource and employment law and manage Meridian's relationships with state and local regulatory agencies.
Serve as internal consultant to Meridian's management team, supervisors and employees on personnel issues that affect performance and business relationships.
Select, develop, evaluate and oversee a team of human resource professionals with a goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal consulting group.
Provide leadership in the critical area of recruitment by developing the most creative and cost-effective ways of generating high-quality candidates in the marketplace to Meridian. Develop long-term relationships with organizations and individuals that will enhance the talent pipeline flow toward Meridian. Working with position supervisors and Meridian's recruiter, recruit, interview and recommend qualified employee candidates who can best contribute to the success and growth of Meridian.
Oversee employee benefit programs including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, supplemental plans, 401(k) plan, Paid Time Off (PTO), workers comp, and unemployment compensation.
Serve as internal consultant to managers and advisor/mediator in employee situations in which discipline is joint responsibility of the Vice President of Human Resources and employee's supervisor.
Evaluate and approve all employee terminations;
Oversee development and implementation of a highly effective orientation program that emphasizes the critical importance and value of welcoming and integrating new employees into the corporate culture (with emphasis on corporate mission and Meridian's policies).
Responsible for wage and salary administration, with particular emphasis on compliance with annual salary budget, evaluating market changes, fair and equitable salary administration, compensation program oversight and maintenance.
Oversee personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers, separations and exit interviews.
Conduct job analyses to establish the specific requirements of individual jobs within each department for the creation and oversight of job descriptions.
Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of Meridian.
Actively participate in national Human Resource Management society or association.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualities:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field required;
- Master's degree and/or HRCI (PHR/SPHR/GPHR) or SHRM (CP/SCP) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years progressive Human Resources experience required; healthcare experience preferred.
